Lenzy Ray Wilson

Though we may mourn the passing, we will celebrate his life. Born on March 13, 1966, in Independence, Louisiana, LENZY RAY WILSON was the son of the late Roy Wilson, Jr. and Emma Hills Wilson. At an early age, he was baptized at Good Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Wilmer, Louisiana. After attending high school in Tangipahoa Parish, and graduating from Sumner High School, Kentwood, Louisiana in 1984, Lenzy decided to do a mechanical venture. When he was a teenager, he began his journey with a simple neighborhood bicycle shop and grew from there. From the beginning he carried a quiet strength that shaped every part of his life. He grew up with a natural gift in his hands, the kind of gift that could fix almost anything. cars, trucks, lawn mowers, weed eaters and many others. If it had rattled, smoked, or refused to start Lenzy could make it run again. Ask anyone who watched him work under the hood of a vehicle and they’ll tell you about parts flying every which way followed by his signature line: “You don’t need this stuff!” His gift wasn’t just mechanical; he didn’t just repair things; he kept families going, neighbors moving, and friends on the road. Lenzy loved the simple, steady country life. He enjoyed good conversation good company and finding satisfaction of mechanical work, familiar faces, and peaceful days His kindness was never loud but always present. His humor was gentle. He was the one people called when something broke. Even through illness, Lenzy fought with courage and grace. He faced each day with the same determination he brought to jobs he worked on. On August 7, 2026, Lenzy completed his earthly work and entered his eternal rest. He is lovingly remembered by: His mother, Emma Hills Wilson, one sister Pergeua Franklin, and one brother Clayton Wilson, all of Wilmer, Louisiana; three nieces; Crystal Butler -Tyren, Albany, Louisiana; Phyllis Cunningham, Luling, Louisiana; Danielle Cunningham, Monroe, Louisiana; four nephews, Felix Cunningham III, (Marchandrea) Monroe, Louisiana; Aaron Cunningham, Amite, Louisiana; Jonathan Morris (Tamara) Tickfaw, Louisiana; Jeremy Morris (Victoria) Ponchatoula, Louisiana; five great nieces, six great nephews, three aunts, Helen Burris (Elmer) Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Yvonne Craig, Kentwood, Louisiana; and Vertis Wilson, Mt Hermon, Louisiana; a special friend, Betty Evans and a bonus son, Lamar Evans, along with cousins, classmates and friends. He follows in eternal rest - his father, Roy Wilson, Jr,; one brother, John Wilson, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
