Shirley Mae Womack Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Shirley Mae Womack was born on January 8, 1943 at Lallie Kemp Hospital in Independence, La to Frank Davis and Frances McClendon-Osby. She passed as a result of her current illnesses on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Hood Memorial Hospital in Amite, La. Shirley was married to Amos Womack, Jr., their union was blessed with six (6) children. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in March of 1973. Sister Womack was very faithful in her service to Jehovah God, she was a regular pioneer in the Kentwood Congregation for many years until her health began to fail and she was no longer able to do so. In spite of the many health issue and trials that she went through, Shirley never lost faith in Jehovah God. She always told her children & Grandchildren that "Jehovah is going to take care of it!"; and when brothers and sisters would go to visit and give her some encouragement, she would end up being a source of strength & encouragement to them. Shirley once started doing household & office work until she became employed at Lallie Kemp Hospital as a cook, where she later retired as Kitchen Supervisor. She was also well known for her cooking & being able to do the best "Press and Comb" around. Shirley Mae Womack leaves to mourn her loving husband of 49 years, Amos Womack, Jr. Two sons; Dennis (Sandra) Womack and Amos Womack III, both of Kentwood, La. Three Daughters; Norma (Antonio)Rogers of Houston, Tx; Linda Womack and Lisa Womack both of Tangipahoa, La. Thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five sisters, four brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Frank Davis and Frances McClendon-Osby, three brothers; Raymond Osby, Melvin Osby, and Curtis Osby.
