Missionary Ruth Warner Foster, 85, of Amite, La. passed onNovember 18, 2020 peacefully at her home.Ruth Warner was born on April 8, 1935 to Mattie McGown andRobert Warner. After attending Sylvania F. Williams Grade School in NewOrleans, Ruth moved to Amite, La. and continued her education at West SideHigh School.At the young age of 15, she met the love of her life, Joseph Foster,Sr., (whom she was married to for 65 years) and went on to have 14 children,Russell, Robert, Joseph, Jr, Roy Lee (deceased), Lee Esther, JoAnnette,Rena, Glenis, Berlin (deceased), Wylie, Hope, Samantha, Samuel, andLoletha.When Ruth had Russell, she decided to dedicate her life to being aloving wife and wonderful mother. After having her 3rd child, Joe Jr, sheaccepted Christ into her life and made it her mission to spread the word ofGod to all she knew. Ruth was known far and wide for her beautiful smileand giving spirit and most of all, for the delicious church dinners that shewould often host to help raise money for the church building fund at AmiteNo. 1 COGIC.Ruth was a passionate churchgoer, wife, and mother, and when shewasn't filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in herhome raising her children and grandchildren, washing clothes, andcooking. WE WILL MISS HER GREATLY!Ruth was predeceased by her mother, Mattie McGown, her father,Robert Warner, her husband Pastor Joseph Foster, Sr., her sister, May, herbrother, Melvin, her sons, Roy Lee and Berlin, and her grandsons, DavidWalker and LJ Sutton.She is survived by: Her beloved sister, Ora Lee Hunt and brother,James, loving 5 sons and 7 daughters : Russell (Faye), Robert (Teri), Joseph(Shirley), Lee Esther (Hollis), JoAnnette (Charlie), Rena (Lionel), Glenis(Melvin), Daughter-in-Love, Mary, Wylie (Brenda), Hope (Andrew),Samantha, Samuel, Loletha, a plethora of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of people that loved her dearly.Read Psalms 15 silently, as this was another one of her favorite passages of scripture.
