Sis. Rosa Lee Wilson Matthew was born on May 21, 1934; she was the daughter of the late Henrietta Armstead and Morgan Myles. She was raised by her Mother Henrietta and Step Father, John W. Hills. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Ivery Wilson on January 16, 1954. From this union six (6) children were born; one proceeded her in death, Paul Edward Wilson. After her marriage she joined the Silver Creek A.M.E. Church where she served faithfully.In 1981 after 27 years of marriage, Rosa became a widow at the young age of 48. She found herself raising 3 children aloneand she diligently raised them in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Several years later she was united in marriage to Mr. Benjamin Matthews and they both continued to serve actively at Union Chapel until his death. Over the years she accepted a higher calling to serve on the Stewardess and Missionary Boards where she served faithfully until her healthdeclined. Rosa Lee was proceeded in death by her husbands, parents, one son, one sister (Carrie Williams) one brother (Robert Hills) and one grand- son (Michael Matthews). She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Woodrow Wilson of Kentwood, LA; four daughters, Debra Wilson of Kentwood, LA; Rose Magee (Bobby) of Slidell, LA; Sharon Rheinhart (Jimmy) of Chesterfield, VA; and Ivy N. Matthews of Kentwood, LA, four sisters; Claretta Ellis ofBaton Rouge, LA; Janie Harris (Nate) of Kentwood, LA; Emma Wilson(Roy) of Wilmer, LA; Cora Buckley (Johnnie) of Kentwood, LA and Yvonne Hills Craig of Kentwood, LA; one brother: Elvin Myles of St.Gabriel, LA; one aunt: Ora B. Vernon of Amite, LA; two sisters-in-law:Celestine Cutrer and Bobbie Brumfield of Kentwood, LA; one brother-in-law: David Wilson of Harvey, LA: twelve (12) Grandchildren, tw0(2) granddaughter-in- law, eight (8) great-grandchildren, three (3)God-children and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
