Mrs. Janice "Pop" Dantzler Moore Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Janice Pop Moore was born on October 17, 1966, to the late Obie J. Dantzler and Mamie Dantzler of Springfield, LA. She departed this life on Monday, May 9, 2022. Janice was a member of Revision Church of Hammond, LA, where she remained faithful and devoted until her health began to fail. She was employed by Southeastern Louisiana University of Hammond, LA. Janice was well known because of her blatant honesty, smile, laughter, shade a.k.a. sunglasses. Above all, Janice loved her boys, her grandkids, and everyone she came in contact with became family. Wherever she was, you knew you were going to have a great time because she was the life of the party. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Charles Moore of Springfield, LA; three sons, Dai’Shawn Dantzler (Latonia), Shabass Dantzler, both of Springfield, LA, Courtney (Brittany) Dantzler of Denham Springs, LA; four godchildren, D’onda Loyd of Hammond, LA, Charles Pierre, Jazzjanee Bryant both of Springfield, LA, and Devin Brown, Jr. of Gulfport, MS; her mother, Mamie Dantzler of Springfield, LA; two brothers, Obie Dantzler (Maydean) of Springfield, LA and Deremio (Audrey) Dantzler of Tulsa, OK; and four sisters, Doris Coe of Slidell, LA, Darlene Johnson of Gulfport, MS, Lisa (Andre) Fox, and Kimberly Leflore both of Springfield, LA; 15 grandchildren, Dai’Shawn Jakobe Dantzler, Jr., Amaree Jacob Dantzler, Kash Jamaree Dantzler, Amelia Dior Dantzler, Drue Dexton Dantzler, Dai’Lee Chanel Dantzler, Siryah Thomas, Gabriel Dantzler, Drayton Dantzler, Zahaih Peters, McKenna Dantzler, Unique Dantzler, Macey Dantzler, Zoey Dantzler, and Declan Dantzler; one sister-in-law, Linda Moore; one brother-in-law, Larry (Tiffany) Moore; two special friends, Brittany Chester and Haili Thomas both of Springfield, LA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Janice “Pop” Moore was preceded in death by her father, Obie J. Dantzler; sister, Patricia Fletcher; and brother, Arthur Dantzler; grandparents, Lula and Charlie Johnson. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, beginning at 10:00AM until 11:30AM at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 410 E Colorad0 St, Hammond, LA. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00PM at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 410 E Colorado St, Hammond, LA. Interment to follow at Galilee Cemetery, 25787 LA 43, Springfield, LA. Cross Memorial Funeral Home of Amite, LA is in charge of arrangements.
