“Our heart aches with sadness; our secret tears flow, for what it means to lose you, no one will ever know." Billy Jonathan Ruffin was born on August 13, 1964, in Independence, Louisiana. Billy Jonathan Ruffin passed away at his home in Loranger, Louisiana, on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the age of 57. He was baptized and became a member of Mt. Gillion Baptist Church at an early age. Billy was a faithful follower of the church and its teachings. Verses of the Bible were well known to him. He was married to Marion Baham Ruffin for over 37 years. He was employed at Cajun IDC. Billy was a jack of all trades; He was a generalist rather than a specialist, versatile and adept at many things; he always thought of others first. He developed a lifelong love of fixing vehicles (mechanic) at an early age. Billy enjoyed helping others and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Billy leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Marian Baham Ruffin of Loranger, Louisiana; four children, Quenlon Baham, Karnisha (Kerry) Butler, Brittney Ruffin of Loranger, Louisiana, and Jordan Armsted of Ponchatoula, Louisiana; his mother, Augustine Brumfield Ruffin of Roseland, Louisiana; father, Louis (Cynthia) Webster Ruffin Sr. of Hammond, Louisiana; one brother: Louis (Shelly) Webster Ruffin Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Sharon Michelle Ruffin of Abingdon, Maryland; eight grandchildren, Terrell, Kerrion, Mya, Lauren, Lana, Tyronna, Alice, Zetrick all of Loranger, Louisiana; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Dexter Ruffin; maternal grandparents, Eugene Cook and Carrie Solomon; paternal grandparents, Tom and Louella Ruffin; five Aunts, Loretta Smith, Gailya Smith, Betty Solomon, Bobbie Haynes, Mary Lee Harris; and five Uncles, Cecil Ruffin, Harold Solomon, Wallace Solomon, Lionel Solomon, and Edward Solomon. His family and friends will significantly miss Billy. Let’s remember what a great person he was and make sure that his memory continues in our hearts forever.
