Mrs. Attie Lean Williams Cutrer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Attie Lean Williams Cutrer was born in Sunny Hill, LA, on April 17, 1934, the tenth of eleven children born to her late parents, Joe and Mary Williams. She was reared in a Christian home. She departed this life on Friday, May 27, 2022, at her home. She was baptized at an early age. She became a member of Union Chapel AME Church (Silver Creek) at an early age, where she remained a faithful member until her illness and ultimately her death. Attie Lean loved the Lord and her church. She was a loyal servant in many ministries, including Stewardess, Missionary Society, Pastor’s Aide, and Lay Organization. Attie Lean was united in holy matrimony to Robert (Jack) James Cutrer. To this union, six children were born. There is no doubt that Attie Lean’s primary focus, after her love of God, was her devotion to her children. A few of the most vital principles she instilled in her children were to love God, devotion to family, and honesty. She was also a loving and wonderful grandmother and was “Grand” in every way. Attie Lean never failed to show how much each of her grandchildren meant to her and how special they were. When she was able, she delighted in preparing their favorite breakfast—sausage, eggs, grits, biscuits, and homemade syrup. For their birthdays, she went the extra mile by buying and giving monetary gifts. Attie Lean was affectionately known in the community as a great baker. When she was able, she was passionate about cooking and found pleasure in preparing her fabulous desserts for others to indulge and enjoy. She retired from The Tangipahoa Parish School System, having worked for 25-plus years. As faithful as Attie Lean was to serving God, she was also devoted to her community. Her love for people was evident in her continuous generosity and great humility. She opened her heart and her home and never expected anything in return. She knew her reward would not be earthly but heavenly. Attie Lean loved her family and friends, and all who knew her reciprocated that love. Preceding Attie Lean in death was her husband, Robert (Jack) James Cutrer; four sons, Robert Jr., Robert Emanuel, Paul, and Clifford Cutrer; six sisters, and four brothers. After a beautiful and blessed life, she leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Martha (Earl) McFarland of Osyka, MS; Content (Tommy) Bolds of New Orleans, LA; and Terry (Rev. Lloyd) Washington of Hammond, LA; Fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; Seventeen great-great-grandchildren; three godchildren, Fachina Miller, Ronnie, and Robert Briggs; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, from 10:00AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM, at Union Chapel AME Church, 23012 Silver Creek Rd, Kentwood, LA 70444. Interment will follow at Union Chapel Church Cemetery.
