Romona Lott-Nevels

On Friday, May 2, 2025, in Hammond, La Romana Lacriez Lott-Nevels departed her earthly home to a journey to her permanent home (Heaven). On January 27, 1978, Romona was the surprise twin to her Brother Andre Lott (2008) out of three sets of twins to Wallace and Debra Lott in San Diego, California. At an early age, Romona was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Eugene Gordon, Sr., at Mt. Pisca Baptist Church of San Diego, CA She attended elementary school in San Diego, CA. Her family relocated to Hammond, LA, where she attended West Side, Hammond Jr. High, and Hammond High Schools. She was loving, caring, and a happy/fun person. She joined Good Hope Baptist Church under Pastor Wallace Lott's leadership; as a child, she loved to usher and sing with her sisters and brothers. And working with the youth department. She also loved her whole family. She was a daughter, sister, mother, granddaughter, aunt, and a fantastic wife. She sang in the mass and youth choir. She started the group Lil Blessins in 2010 with her four children & nephew. The group was her pride and joy. She ensured they kept pushing forward and kept God first, never giving up on themselves. On March 22, 2008, Romona was joined in holy matrimony to Shedrick Nevels. To this union, they were blessed to become a blended family, with her children Steverson Meadows, Ramon Meadows, Jamar Lott & Shaniya Lott. They joined Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church (Pastor Charles Hart), Albany, LA; in 2023, she joined Greater Love COGIC (Herbert Burton), Hammond, LA. Romonas' memories will be cherished by her Husband, Shedrick Nevels (Hammond, La), Children Steverson Meadows, Ramon Meadows, Jamar Lott & Shaniyah Lott (Hammond, La). Father and Mother, Rev. Wallace Lott (Alabama) and Debra Lott of (Hammond, LA) ; three sisters, Alesha Lott, Myeisha Lott (Dennis) (Hammond, La) and Kyeisha Lott (Livingston, LA); one brother, Joshua Lott (Lakiesha )of Independence, LA; one grandmother, Fillie Gene Varnado of San Diego, LA;; Grandfather, John Brown of Meridian, MS; mother-in-law, Brenda Nevels of Tangipahoe, LA; one sister-in-law; Serria Nevels of Tangipahoe, LA; five aunts, Pricilla Ann Anderson (Victor) San Diego, CA and ; Laydell Richardson, and Sally Drummond, both of Amite, LA; Linda Dean & Miriam Mason of Meridian, MS; five uncles, Roy James Lott of San Diego, CA;, Jimmy Mason, Leon Mason, Johnny Mason, Royal Mason (Vicki), all of Meridian, MS; two nieces Akeyia Lott Of (Hammond, La) 8 Delilah Marshall (Hammond, La); five nephews Andre Lott Jr, Carlos Lott of Hammond, LA and Bryson Lott, Carter Lott, Darius Lott of Independence, LA; one great aunt, Mary Wells of Hammond, LA and a cousin, Brenda McKay of Hammond, LA. Some special people in her life were Reverend Ricks & Lady Ricks, Olevia Robinson. Romona touched the lives of many people & cherished every single one of them. She was preceded in death by her two grandfathers, Ocie Mason, Sr., and Wallace Varnado; two grandmothers, Azzie lee Glover; Lucy Mae Mason of Meridian MS, three aunts, Sara Varnado, Katie Brown, Vera Simpson (Robert) one brother Andre Lott Sr. Daughter Treyviana Johnson, five uncles, Leedale Varnado, Sylvester Lott. Ocie Mason, Richard Mason, Jeffery Mason.
