Reginald Earl Lewis, Sr.

Reginald Lewis Sr., age 61, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away with his family by his side on September 1, 2025. He was born on October 10, 1963, at Independence Hospital, he was the beloved son of Lubertha and the late Donald Lewis Sr. Reginald was a proud native of Hammond, where he built a life centered on love, family, faith, and hard work. He was baptized at an early age by the late Elder A. Mixon at Peach Ridge Church, a spiritual foundation that guided him throughout his life. Reginald married the love of his life, Karen Lewis, on May 23, 1987. Together, they shared a beautiful union built on love, patience, and commitment, raising a strong and loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Karen, and his children: Dannielle Lewis, and her children Izaya Lewis, Zira Lewis, Amaya Lewis, and Jadyn Lewis Reggie Lewis Jr., and his children Dynasty Oliver, A’livia Brantley, Xzaida Coleman, Xavier Lewis, Rhyli Lewis, Vin’ta Conerly, and Ragyn Lewis Jasmine Neal (husband Laterrance Neal Sr.), and their children Jamiyah Osby, Jai’Quez Osby, Laterrance Neal Jr., and Jersey Neal Sean Lewis Sr., and his children Sean Lewis Jr., Skylar Lewis, Ayden Lewis, and Amina Williams Julia Spears (husband Kenneth Spears Jr.), and their children Kennadi Spears and Kenneth Spears III (“Tre”) He is also survived by his loving mother, Lubertha Lewis, brother Donald Lewis and wife Michelle, Sister Donna M. Mitchell and was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lewis Sr. Reggie’s memory is also cherished by his extended family, including sisters-in-law Ivy Richardson and Shoney Richardson; his brother-in-law and spouse Darryl and Aridenne Richardson;. He was loved by a host of aunts, uncles, including his close and dedicated uncle Jerry Douglas, cousins, nephews, nieces, including special niece Henrika Rucker, and great-grandmother; Eula Mae Douglas, affectionately known as “Madea.” Reginald was a man who never met a stranger. He lived boldly, loved deeply, and made an impression everywhere he went. He was the proud owner of Reggie's Tire Service for over 25 years, where he served the community with dedication, honesty, and a welcoming smile. A true people person, Reggie enjoyed playing cards, watching sports, traveling, and cheering for Southern University Football. His greatest joy was spending time with his large and loving family, where his presence was always received and enjoyed at every gathering. He did everything in his own unique way — full of confidence, laughter, and heart. Reginald Lewis Sr. leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
